if I were on my death bed
and did indeed die
would you crucify yourself in mourning
just as I did seventeen years ago
when I wondered if I became born again
and held to the sun the hand the nail passed through
casting a five fingered shadow pierced by a sun ray
laying on his graves name,
could I raise him up?
rearrange the words etched in stone
rename Francis as Lazarus
change the year 1983 to never ending?
Would he then mark me as Jesus the second time I died,
or get stuck on that change
turn
walk away muttering
Christ?
