This morning the female swan was still in her nest, but the 3 bruiser Geese were paying a visit. The swan only looked alert, and the geese were merely there to nibble on some fresh shoots that were growing in front of the nest, so there couldn�t be that much stress involved.
I should check my past entries and see when I first started talking about the swan. That would give me an idea as to when to start looking for the cygnets. The bruiser geese are all male, and probably 1 year olds, so they won�t be spending too much time looking for mates until next year � no new goslings this summer I bet�
I never loiter around the nest, I just pass by walking and observe only as long as it takes me to pass. They built their nest so close to a main road � albeit 15 feet below street level, but still it must be distracting and stressful to have people staring and talking at your eggs all day long� so I never loiter.
Last night was uneventful. Tonight I hope to do something interesting. We�ll see if it happens.
