My new theory on why commuting to work on Monday morning sucks so bad is that people are rusty. They're uncoordinated - the muscles and neural pathways used in weekday commuting have had a chance to get 'tight' and stiffen up.
So the reason no one can drive worth a damn on Monday morning is because they're all re-learning the process... that and they're morons who can't remember how to dive after not doing it for two days.

Yesterday Jen and I went to the ocean for a few hours. It was pretty uneventful, but at least it got us out of the house for a little while. We go to this private beach about 20 minutes from our apartment, it's actually quite nice. Never many people around, no concession stands, no muscle head guys with triple the horse power in their cars or motorcycles than intelligence quotient points in their high school drop out files... Nice.

There's nothing new to report on the hoodlum front. We hardly saw anyone on Saturday or Sunday. I suppose a giant skinny dude sprinting at a bunch of 14 year olds who then gets in their face and proceeds to chew them out - could have had an effect...
but I doubt it,
they were probably just arrested for messing with someone in a richer neighborhood.

This week I have very few obligations that I know of. Tuesday I am going to meet with the booking agent of the club I hold the slam at - to see if I can get a second night a month... Two Poetry Slams a month. I'm still wondering if this is a good idea.
