dumb usefull personal and sad

something dumb:

While Jen was gone I found myself watching a lot of TV.

TNT is single-handedly trying to remove the word drama from the English language - just by wearing it out.

There are no other midgets who are capable of appearing on film or TV other than the little person who played Mini-Me from Austin Powers.

We never would have had Three Mile Island if they had invented the Gator Grip in the 70's.

Peregrine Falcons can withstand over twice the G-forces of the best equipped best trained fighter pilots.

While serving a greater good and while often very entertaining in a watching the grass grow sort of way, "The Worlds Deadliest Police Chases" is really just propaganda designed to make the public think they can't get away.

The commercials for your local mall are the same commercials that everyone else in the country are seeing, they just have the same people singing about 589 different Mall Jingles over a weekend in some roach infested studio in Western Massachusetts.

According to E!, Kurt Cameron from Growing Pains 'ruined' his career when he stopped being a teen idol and started being a Born Again Christian.

I really hate cable.

something useful (activism ala carte):

Defend Freedom of Expression

Stop Feeding the Monster

Stop Destruction of Nation's Gun Laws

Release Dioxin Report and Protect Public Health

Tell the Senate to Pass a Responsible Energy Bill

Help End Child Slave Labor

Pass The Equal Protection of Voting Rights Act

Stop Wrongful Executions, Support a National Moratorium

something personal:

This morning Jen woke me up at 8:30 am in a panic,

"Get up! We're late! I forgot to set the alarm!"

"Sweety, its Saturday."

"Ohhh. I'm so sorry."

I got up, smoked a cigarette, went back to bed, and forgave her. Then laughed about it later.

something sad:

Number of gun related deaths per year in:
Sweden: 4
UK: 16
Japan: 12
United States: 12,000

For fairness, here are gun-related deaths per 100,000 people in the world's 36 richest countries (1994 stats were the quickest I could find, they're still about the same in 2001.): United States 14.24; Brazil 12.95; Mexico 12.69; Estonia 12.26; Argentina 8.93; Northern Ireland 6.63; Finland 6.46; Switzerland 5.31; France 5.15; Canada 4.31; Norway 3.82; Austria 3.70; Portugal 3.20; Israel 2.91; Belgium 2.90; Australia 2.65; Slovenia 2.60; Italy 2.44; New Zealand 2.38; Denmark 2.09; Sweden 1.92; Kuwait 1.84; Greece 1.29; Germany 1.24; Hungary 1.11; Republic of Ireland 0.97; Spain 0.78; Netherlands 0.70; Scotland 0.54; England and Wales 0.41; Taiwan 0.37; Singapore 0.21; Mauritius 0.19; Hong Kong 0.14; South Korea 0.12; Japan 0.05.
